The degree is awarded upon completion of a course of full-time study lasting for four (4) years ordinarily, or two (2) years for persons entering in the third year of study. To graduate, students completing the four years programme must gain a minimum of 141 credits, while those entering at the third year of study must gain a minimum of 69 credits. In both cases, graduation will require that students complete all courses as set out in the programme outline below and have a minimum Grade Point Average of 2.0.

Graduation may be subject to other regulations of the University of Guyana.
