Several UG Berbice Campus Students Receive Awards at 20th Convocation Ceremonies

The University of Guyana Menezes-Rodney Award for the Best Performing Student in Caribbean History at the June/July 2021 Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) Examinations was presented to Roshane Roach of the Campion College, Jamaica.
The Region’s Top Performers at the 2021 Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) and the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) Examinations were honoured at a simple ceremony which was held virtually from the Virgin Islands on February 10, 2022.
Guyana’s health care system has been boosted with the addition of thirteen (13) Dental Surgeons who recently graduated from the University of Guyana’s School of Medical Sciences with their Bachelor’s in Dental Surgery.
On February 6, 2022, the School of Medicine, Dentistry Department hosted a White Coat and Awards Ceremony at the Regency Suites Banquet Hall where the newly-minted Dental Surgeons were officially presented with their ceremonial White Coats.
President Dr. Irfaan Ali, in a powerful message to the University of Guyana’s graduating Class of 2020/2021, urged the graduates to use their newly-acquired skills to develop themselves and to help “revolutionise Guyana’s development”.

The University of Guyana, last weekend (February 4 and 5), kicked off its first two virtual graduation ceremonies with powerful and uplifting speeches from two well respected and influential leaders in the fields of business and science – prominent businessman Stanley Ming and leading Guyana-born Pfizer scientist Mr. Vidia Roopchand, respectively.
