LECTURERS
Modern Languages – Spanish
1. Spanish Language Courses – Full-time and Part-time
2. Spanish Linguistics and Literature Courses – Full-time and Part-time
Qualification, Knowledge and Experience
Minimum Requirements:
• At least a Master’s Degree (MA) in Spanish
OR
• BA Degree in Spanish (Pass with Distinction or Credit) plus a Master’s Degree in Spanish or related area.
• Post-secondary teaching experience in Spanish language instruction will be an asset.
Instructor
• Minimum of a BA Degree in Spanish or a B.Ed. in Spanish.
• Experience teaching Spanish at the secondary or post-secondary level will be an asset.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to teach and supervise using new and innovative virtual learning modes and techniques is a requirement.
- Expertise in synchronous and asynchronous course delivery and facilitating autonomous off-campus learning and experimentation.
- Skills to promote critical thinking, reflective and self-correcting teaching and research practice.
- Exhibit strong communication and cultural competence, and the capacity to foster positive relationships across diverse groups of students and educators.
- Ability to utilise modern technologies in education, student learning management systems and other virtual learning modes of delivery.
- Ability to collaborate well with teams of diverse lecturers and staff.
- Committed to work flexible hours, including evenings and Saturdays when required.
- Available for face-to-face engagements, assessments, and academic support activities during academic recess periods when necessary.
SALARY SCALES: Lecturer - $345,209 - $518,309
Instructor - $304,602 - $467,527
