Request for Expressions of Interest - Food Services on Turkeyen Campus

The University of Guyana invites written Expressions of Interest for the provision of food services at the Turkeyen campus.

About the University

With a current enrolment of some 8,000 students, the University of Guyana (UG) has graduated more than 20,000 students who have gone on to successful careers locally, regionally and internationally. The University is a major contributor to the national economy and to business and industry. It now offers more than 110 under-graduate and post-graduate programmes in Engineering and Technology, Earth and Environmental Studies, Agriculture and Forestry, the Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Health Sciences, Education and Humanities, Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation on two campuses, in seven locations.


There are currently some 7,000 students and staff at the Turkeyen campus. The University intends to establish a food court, an executive dining complex and a small café on campus, providing a range of options in terms of cost and dietary requirements/preferences between 7:00am and 7:00pm Monday to Friday, and 9:00am to 4:00pm on Saturdays (during semesters). Services are reduced from June to August. No alcohol will be offered for sale.


Interested entities (individual or corporate) must provide a brief description (two pages maximum) of proposed services, their experience in similar contexts, and a statement of their capacities (technical, capital and financial).


Entities short-listed will be invited to provide a detailed proposal. Expressions of interest should be sent via email to – subject heading: EOI – Food Services – Turkeyen by June 17, 2018, addressed to the The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Planning and International Engagement, and must include full (business) name, TIN, business address, business telephone number and business email address, as well as name and contact information for three references.
