The University of Guyana invites registered students to submit research proposals for funding under the programme “Achieving a green state: Building human capacity for natural resources management in Guyana”.

The grant programme provides financial and technical support of up to US$2000. for research focused on biodiversity conservation, forestry, sustainable natural resource use, marine/freshwater systems, and human well-being linked to the environment in Guyana.

The University of Guyana and the University of Florida, with support from WWF-Guianas, are embarking on an academic program to strengthen technical capacity within Guyana to achieve sustainable forest management associated with Guyana’s Green Development. Through academic and research exchange between faculty and students in the form of short courses, and expert mentoring and financial support for student research, the project aims to place the University of Guyana at the forefront of policy relevant research on natural resource management.
