The Religion, Science and the Environment Research Group (RSERG) was formed in 2012 by members of the Faculty of Natural Science at the University of Guyana.

Symposium: Religion and Science for Environmental Sustainability

The University of Guyana, Religion, Science and Environment Research Group (UG-RSERG) invites the public to participate in a symposium on the theme ‘Religion and science for environmental sustainability’. This one day event will be held on Wednesday 5th February 2014 at the Education Lecture Theatre on the Turkeyen Campus, commencing at 0830h. Read more here

University of Guyana Entrance Examination

The University of Guyana is inviting eligible persons who are desirous of attending the University to register to write the Entrance Examination.

Who can write the examination?

  • Persons who are twenty-six (26) years and over and fall into the Mature Students category and have work experience in the required field of study.
  • Persons who are under twenty-six (26) years of age and have the required number of CSEC passes but at more than the specified number of sittings.
  • Persons with certificates and diplomas from the Burrowes School of Art,

Exam Pass

Dear Students,
Please be advised that no student will be allowed to write a final examination if he/she does not have the course listed on his/her examination pass or is not provided with written permission by an Officer of the Registry (Registrar, Deputy Registrar or Assistant Registrars).

If you have not already done so, kindly uplift your examination pass from your respective faculty office.

UG's 50th Anniversary "Food for Thought" - Commemorative Breakfast Walk

Turkeyen, Georgetown, October 21, 2013– In celebration of the University of Guyana’s 50th Anniversary, there will be a Commemorative Walk from the old campus at Queen’s College to the Turkeyen Campus on Saturday, October 26, 2013 from 6am. A Guyanese styled buffet breakfast will be served at 9am and a formal presentation at 9:45am, chaired by a special guest – Ambassador(rtd) Rudy Insanally one of the University’s first Lecturers and a past Chancellor. The event billed as “Food For Thought” talk  will begin  at Queens College at 6am and culminate on the lawns of the University.  

2012 shortlist released by The Guyana Prize for Literature - Awards ceremony billed for September 15

The Jury of the Guyana Prize for Literature has released the Shortlists for the 2012 Awards in the various categories of entries. The Shortlists and Winners were decided by a Jury made up of very distinguished judges, selected by the Guyana Prize Management Committee because of their outstanding credentials in the field of literature as literary critics, academics, literary editors, authors and creative writers.

The selections in each case are listed in alphabetical order according to the authors.
