UG signs MOU with Grenada

The University was host last week to a visiting delegation from Grenada, led by the Honourable Claris Charles, Minister of Education and Labour. The other members were Ms Luret Clarkson, Chairman of the College Council, Mr Lincoln Morgan - Acting Principal and Mr C. Nigel Gravesande - Registrar.

Region 9 residents to benefit from IDCE classes

Residents of Region 9 are once again being provided with the opportunity of pursuing pre-university courses conducted by the University’s Institute of Distance and Continuing Education. A team from the Institute headed by Acting Director Mr Francis Glasgow, visited Lethem recently and had discussions with officials from the Region and the President of the Rupununi Chamber of Commerce among other groups.

UG commits to equal opportunity

The University Administration, in an effort to ensure that there is continuity in its equal opportunity policy has established an Equal Opportunity Committee, convened by Ms Stacey Peters, Planning Officer, Human Resource and Funding.

Focus on land degradation and desertification

The University of Guyana in collaboration with the Pan American Health Organisation held a Symposium at the Education Lecture Theatre, Turkeyen Campus on June 5, 2006 in recognition of Word Environmental Day.
